Drawing

Art doesn’t have to be a solitary pastime. The sharing of art can take the form of  viewing at exhibitions and creating in a group.

Rhonda-drawingEach month a group of nine local artists meet in someone’s home, rather like a book club. We discuss what’s happening in the Art World, as well as draw. Subjects are determined by the person hosting the evening, and any medium can be used. We all look forward to our get together.

In early July I attended a workshop in Drawing with Denis Clarke at Charles Sturt University in Bathurst.

Hand Made Implements- BrushesThis was quite creative drawing….using graphite, inks, charcoal and paint, applied with sticks, brushes and pens. I chose to make some interesting handmade implements and experiment with these. Some very interesting mark making happened, quite spontaneous, very rewarding; I enjoyed making the tools!!!
